Of course God can use anything to save anyone but the word "try" does not properly convey what a sinner must do. We don't sample Jesus to see if we like Him or not, we must repent and trust because He is the only One who can save us from the wrath of the Father that we rightly deserve. Not a good sign in my opinion because it makes light of the Gospel message.
You're exactly right Charlene; it makes light of the gospel.
The gospel is the power of God unto salvation, not a witty (or cheesy) slogan that implies you can "give Jesus a try" whenever you want to and say, "I done did that" and move on to the next thing you decide to try.
